HOPE FAMILY HOME

Grace at hospital
It is not a new story or a new need, only that this old often repeated story needed a solution to the problem. It all begun with my first  few visits to the hospital to go and help needy women and their babies; I met Jane 18years old who had lost her baby, she was grieving silently and when I asked the nurse what exactly happened she told me Jane took long to come to the hospital and she also never attended her antenatal clinic visits so she was too weak and anaemic so she failed to push the baby, by the time she was taken for operation her baby had weakened and died just a few minutes after birth. I went back to Jane and asked her why she took long to come to the hospital and why she did not attend her antenatal clinics, Jane told me she lived far in the village because her parents didn't want to see her anymore after she became pregnant at school. It was so sad, and I didn't know how to help her, but I kept wishing I met her a few months ago before she ran to the village.
Little did I know it wasn't the end of this story; I got to meet so many girls with the same story as Jane till today; one of the same story was Christine15 years old who had nowhere to go with her baby after being helped by a few good Samaritans throughout her pregnancy. After a few visits with Christine while she was still in the hospital, I knew God wanted me to look for shelter for her and her baby boy;but I didn't know what to do, the ministry was just starting and the finances could not allow me take such responsibility, but God always has angels assigned to fulfil His will here on earth and that angel may be you or me or anyone else.In this particular case, the angels were a team of missionaries that came for a short term mission to train pastors and among them when I shared about the idea of getting Christine a shelter; they felt God wanted them to help see it happen. so they helped get money and pay rent for a small room for Christine and her baby, and so many of you helped Christine eat, dress, sleep in a proper bed, get a hand skill training to help her earn a living, and we did this with Christine for about 10 months and baby John was big and strong, above all healthy. I believe someday God will reward you all for this compassionate work that you have done for these lives. I know wherever they are ,they are fine and healthy because you gave.
This did not end here, as we helped so many other women and young girls at the hospital, there were so many cases of girls with no idea of where to go after the hospital because their parents had rejected them and the boys responsible for the pregnancies have fled too. These girls are usually hopeless and withdrawn due to rejection ansd shame.
I knew what God was asking me to do; I was scared of doing it because it is so demanding and I do not have the finances to do it. But God sure makes everything beautiful in His own time. This year He assigned another angel who came over and she willingly saw this ministry of providing a home for these rejected girls with their coming babies set off. may God reward her too .
Now that we have BEGUN, the work is nothing close to easy but such beautiful work to see the restoration of hope in the lives of these girls, with your help we will go on changing these lives.
Our very first teenage mother to be helped at the HOPE FAMILY HOME is Victor Nabirye 14 years old and a mother of twins, baby Grace and baby JohnMark.when I received the call from the hospital about Victor, I asked my colleague Zainah to go and she came back ,updated me and the next day I went to meet her, there she was with her twins so tiny that one could believe they couldn't make it. we took care of them at the hospital, shared the Word of God and the love of Christ with her, she gave her life to Christ. I trusted God and took her in, she was so hopeless ,she never believed that her babies could make it. I taught her how to pray for her babies, she now prays whenever she is scared about the babies. it hasn't been easy ,the babies have been admitted thrice since birth,to have to look after two tiny babies, whom one of the nurses told Victor to let them die because they are never going to make it, I can only look up and say IT WAS GOD. right now; baby Grace is healthy and so beautiful, with the help of the home mother who is my mum. She prays for them, and showers them with love. Now Victor and her babies have a home, a family, and a hope , and people loving them.
A well-wisher has helped pay for Victor to start her sewing classes, we have one sewing machine at the home,we need more angels to help make a difference in the life of a teenage girl rejected and her baby or babies.
For us to keep doing this work of God, we need your help. You too can be that angel. Thank you all who have been and are still helping this ministry meet lives and change lives. We bring hope where hope has been lost because our God is the God of hope. Jeremiah 29:11 'For I know the plans I have for you..........to give you hope and a future.....'

THE HOME (WE ARE READY NOW)

Hope Teenage Mothers Home
When The Lord put it on my heart to start Hope For Women In Crisis; I hardly had a clear picture of what exactly I was going in for and how it was going to work out. As I set off to the hospital on my first day there to serve the women; I thought i was only going to serve the grieving mothers since that was what brought about this ministry in the first place, and when i showed up at the hospital, there was sure a serious case of a 17 year old girl who had lost her baby the previous night, but they didn’t have transport to take the body of the baby for burial. Thank God I had some money and helped them take the body to the village, but this girl also had no food, no medication.

The next day I found another 16 year old mother abandoned with her new born baby. Sadly this became the most common cases I am to meet for the rest of the time I go to the hospital. After a few months of the ministry; I met a 14 year old mother, who told me she didn’t know where to go with her baby because her family had rejected her and the boy who made her pregnant told her never to think he is the one that made her pregnant because as far as he is concerned, he is infertile. I thought so hard about what to do until my head ached. I was not able to help this girl in this situation and this increased the burden on my heart about these unwed teenage pregnant girls. I took my pen and book, sat down and begun writing about this home for the teenage pregnant girls. The budget was so big that it scared me deep into my belly, and I felt butterflies flying in my belly. I gathered my strength and said;’Father, i know and believe You alone can do this’

moving stuff into the home.
A few weeks later I was called to the hospital for another case and this was Christine, the 15 year old who had been brought to the hospital by good Samaritans, she was operated and had her baby, but she had nowhere to go to because she was an orphan and was a house maid to someone before she got raped and made pregnant, then thrown out of her mistress’s house. When I went to talk to Christine, she told me ‘Auntie please do not leave me.’ Her cry woke up this long awaited dream and vision that I believe is God given. I talked to a few friends who were around for their short time mission to Uganda, and they helped me raise some money that was enough for me to rent a small room for Christine and her baby, and buy a few stuff for her to start a life alone with her baby, this was the first time ever Christine slept on a bed, and a proper bed. The joy on Christine’s face and shortly she begun opening up to me and telling me her story. This was her healing. I thank all my friends that helped me take care of Christine and baby John. Because of your help, I was able to send Christine for tailoring course and got her a sewing machine too. John is now 1 year and 3 months old and a big boy.

This dream and vision stayed on my heart and on the paper until a friend asked me to write him all about my ministry so their organisation could help apply for a grant, this gave me the chance to share about this vision, though the grant didn’t go through, it helped me remember and start praying about it.

these are the beds.
This year God divinely sent another friend to volunteer with me, and during her time of volunteering, we encountered so many teenage mothers and most of them were 13years old, 14years old and 15 years old. One evening as we visited after our hospital ministry, she asked me what i am thinking about this ministry, and for the very first time shared this dear dream with someone, and told her plainly @ I am setting up a home for the unwed Teenage Pregnant girls that have been abandoned. And she told me ,that is exactly what she felt God telling her I should do.Tadaaaah. That was it, and God has miraculously provided through this one individual lady and a friend to help me start this home. Now we are ready and one mother and her twins are already in the house.yeeeeees. Victor and her twins ( John Mark and Grace)

This home is a rehabilitation centre for these traumatized teenagers for their transition into parenting but also to help they fit back into the society.

To keep this home running we need your donations and come and volunteer with us too. you can come and stay right at the home as you serve and love these mothers and their babies.

You can also sponsor a mother and her baby, that is to help them eat, baby diapers, and all other baby needs, but we also train these girls to become self sustaining ,by equipping them with skills that will help them earn a living and take care of their baby. This we do in various areas such as Tailoring, craft work, jewelry making, computer skills, baking, and some of them we need to take them back to school for farther studying if they are willing. These help them fit back in the society.
For now, we can accommodate 4 pregnant girls and when their babies come, we can still accommodate 4 girls with their babies.
teaching Victor how to wash and dress the baby

We teach them life skills to help them heal from their pain and to make better decisions in the future. ABOVE ALL THESE AND MORE, WE HELP THEM KNOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST AND COME TO HIM WITH ALL THEIR HEARTS.

And you can help us do this.

Contact me for any questions about this.

PASSION

Victor 14 yrs old mother of twins now
Please share, you never know who you will inspire!
http://humanityhealing.net/
It has been 1 year and 9 months since Hope For Women In Crisis has been functioning on ground, and, just what The Lord has used us to do so far is so amazing. Sometimes it feels like I have been doing this for years; but its all by God's grace and power. He placed this passion in and on my heart, it gives me reason to live and to think. Thank You Father.
  1. This year so much has been happening with so much changes and direction in the ministry that ,I lost control over my blogs, I am really sorry. Now there are so many testimonies: May be I should start with this one:
  2. This year We have been able to register as a Community Based Organisation and now we have our legal status, this means a lot to me and to the ministry. A sense of responsibility and accountability. This also helps us do activities that we couldn't freely do without registration.
  3. This same year we were able to participate in the Uganda Annual National Save The Mother Conference that brings so many organisations that help mothers and babies here in

Uganda, and Hope For Women In Crisis was able to present on Behalf of The Jinja Regional Referral Hospital in this Big Conference. Yes This another very big move since it created awareness of our presence and work that we have been doing in Jinja.Do not  despise the days of small beginnings.
  4. This year we have been able to start off our TEENAGE PREGNANT GIRLS' HOME for the teenage girls that have been made pregnant out of many different circumstances amongst which include: Rape, defilement, sexual harassment, and abuse but are also rejected with no one to help.
From the day I begun going to the hospital to help the needy mothers have a better experience during child birth; abut 70% of these very needy mothers have been teenagers and among those,50% being rape and defilement cases and abandoned.
This one God placed it on my heart and I begun asking Him how He wanted me to help these young girls . First I travelled about 130 km East of Jinja and found more than 70 teenagers in the same village (Busia) pregnant and out of school with no hope and no help. This broke my heart looking at these girls from 13 years to 19 years all pregnant with babies without fathers; I wished I could carry them and bring them home with me. I cried and my heart was captured. This led me into praying for the girls but also for how we could help; in response we were able to provide Mama Kits for the girls so they had gloves , cotton and other stuff needed by the health centre as you report to deliver your baby, we also provided multivitamins for the girls, clothes and blankets for the babies. We conducted a three days conference where we talked about what abortion really means and its dangers, we also talked about the love of God that never changes even due to situations. It was so amazing the girls showed up for counselling the next day and some were confessing that they had never told anyone they were pregnant and were planning on abortion but now they wouldn't do it, they were keeping their babies.
We then went back after 4 months to sponsor a hand skills training for the girls to learn how to make money with their own hands not to look for it from men; this was important because there is so much prostitution in the area due to Truck Drivers who offer some money to use the girls, forcing them even to do what they do not want to do. This was very fruitful, so many girls and women did the training and no they make a lot of craft stuff ,like ,bracelets ,bags ,clothes ,necklaces ,mats ,hats ,paper bags, paper bead curtains, and many other different things that Hope For Women In Crisis buys from them and uses for fund raising along side your donations to keep the ministry running .These girls are now earning a living ,taking good care of their babies, eating a balanced diet. I am just so proud of them. Most of them have babies now.
You can buy these craft items from Kirsten .A. Harr ,if you are on Facebook ,check on her and she can tell you how you can get it from her. Every item you purchase helps us help a teenage unmarried mother support herself, it also helps us buy medication for a needy mother in the hospital, buy food, get transport for these needy mothers to go back home .
BIG NEWS : The home is ready ,we will be posting about it very soon. This is just something to keep your ears itching. :D
One good Samaritan has helped us start off the home, we still need a lot of your support to see that what God has started is accomplished. Pray for us, support us, join us, come and we serve short time or long time together.
THANK YOU FOR GVING,THANK YOU FOR SERVING,THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE.
THAT IS WHY WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COME THIS FAR.
I GUESS THIS IS A CALLING,A PASSION, A HEART.
I KNOW WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER

YOUNG BUT NOT YOUNG ANYMORE

Victor(14 yrs old) sitting by her babies.
I have been really away from our blogs and I am so sorry for not updating you all my dear friends and well-wishers of this ministry. So much has been happening and the ministry is growing so fast that I slowed a little bit due to other commitments. Now we are back: Fasten your belt and let us jump.
For the past three to four months we have been encountering so many young teenage mothers than we ever encountered before. Most of these young girls range between 13 years old and 19 years old; about 71% of these girls are 14 years old and 15 years old ,26% of hem are 16 years old and 17 years old,the rest being 18 years old, very few of them are 19 years old.
This number is seriously worrying. It is so sad because most of these 13,14,and 15 years old girls are rape cases with no help at all. We have had so many cases of C- sections .These girls come from very poor and needy families, who can hardly afford the treatment and let alone the feeding during the stay at the hospital.
Monica's babies as we found them.
Monica(15 yrs old)
Monica 15 years old, Victor  14 years old and Winnie 16 years old are the few of such cases that we have this week besides the other cases of women we have had since Monday this week. Each of these girls had their babies by C- section.
Monica was abused by a man and left pregnant, now she is a mother of a pair of twins. We found her at the hospital with a friend looking after her. She has developed a serious cough and in need of antibiotics for both her cough and her operation. her baby was naked. The father of her baby disappeared from the village after knowing she was pregnant.

Victor's baby, the other is in the oxygen
Zainah delivering the WIC blessing bag
Victor 14 years old also had twins. she looks very young but now she is a mother. She was a school girl until she got raped and left pregnant. Her poor mother is in the hospital with her but she cannot do more than looking at them since she has no money for treatment. Victor's babies were both naked when we found them. I felt so sad and my heart was heavy watching this little girl trying so hard to breast feed her babies , she does not know how to hold her babies, she needs help, one baby is sick and they have no money to buy the prescribed drugs for the baby to get treatment. Thank God my colleague Zainah shared the love of Christ with little Victor and she gave her life to Christ. She has a big smile on her face though she can hardly look you in the eyes. Her face is constantly looking down even when she is smiling.  oh how I wanted to grab those babies and take them with me.
Winnie 16 years old was abandoned at the hospital and her Caesarean wound was now infected and she was basically stinking ,she hadn't taken a bath for two days, her wound was bringing out pus,oh my God, no she couldn't afford to buy a syringe ,gloves ,antibiotics, food or anything in that case. she lay down in pain and her face looked hopeless.
I love the hope the Name of Jesus brings.
We had great moment with the three girls at the hospital, we even afforded some laughter, we smiled, they giggled, we held them and prayed with them.
The babies were all dressed up, we had food for them, medication was provided, gloves, syringes, and friends.
I really love the hope Jesus brings in these lives.
Thank you for donating towards Hope for Women In Crisis.
We are able to provide medication, transportation, food, baby clothes, bedding, and above all else the love of Christ to these young mothers who feel worthless and abandoned by their own .
The reward is priceless; looking at the smile come on the once sad faces, looking at a baby who was once naked and cold being dressed warm and beautiful, having these lives changed by just a simple act of kindness, most importantly the souls finding their way to Christ and surrendering to His Lordship.
I love doing this over and over.
God blessed me with a wonderful team of three ladies working tirelessly by my side. I love these daughters of God.
I will write sooner again.
( These are just a few more of the serious cases we have had since last week)
