BACK TO OUR ROOTS

It's been a long time when we last sent a blog to you our dear friends . the last time i was able to write and publish our blog was 2014 and i couldn't do it again because there was a virus and something was not right with our blog page . Now a lot has happened ;i tried as much as possible to update on facebook and on our page; but I also understand not everyone is on facebook. Now we are back and we will keep you updated with our blogs as best as we can. Thank you.

Those that know the GENESIS of HOFWIC  will totally understand this blog with easy ; and for those that joined us in the EXODUS might need a background.
a brief background; HOFWIC started from this hospital JINJA MAIN HOSPITAL after the loss of our baby  from this very hospital;that's why this hospital is very important to this ministry. God showed me what was happening at the hospital and how the very needy mothers and their babies were in so much pain and He told me I had to go back there. so I did and HOFWIC STARTED.
LAST YEAR THERE WAS A NEW ADMINISTRATION AT THE HOSPITAL WHICH DIDN'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT US SO THEY MADE IT REALLY HARD FOR US TO DELIVER OUR SERVICES EVEN THOUGH IT WAS VERY MUCH NEEDED.  BUT NOW THIS YEAR THERE IS A NEW ADMINISTRATION THAT IS WELCOMING TO US.THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS REOPENED THE DOORS WIDER FOR US.  WE ARE VERY HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO SERVE AGAIN ALONGSIDE OUR HOSPITAL STAFF.

SO THIS MORNING I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE HOSPITAL THAT I WAS NEEDED THERE. Yes ;sure ;we were needed. We have 4 cases that need our help.  And all 4 mothers are septic now, with two of them having to go back to the theatre and get operated upon again because their wounds went so so bad. these mothers are all Caesarean mothers.
Juliet is 28 years old; she had a rupture and lost her baby. Juliet is still grieving and as though that is not enough; she has no money to buy medication; her Caesarean wound is septic now and needs much stronger antibiotics which will cost 28,000shillings which is roughly 9$ a bottle and she needs 3 bottles per day  totalling to 27$ and other 2 other drugs along side that; she has starved for the past 4 days,no food, she can't afford to bye food,or a drink. so roughly Juliet needs 42$ to be able to receive all her treatment fully and also eat and drink : So for the next 5 days we need 210$ to help Juliet.

these are the 4 mommas and their babies apart from Juliet who lost hers. they are all on the same row because once you become septic ;you get moved to nearer the exit so that they reduce on chances of infecting others .
so these are our current cases.

Meet Mwajuma; 15years old. and her baby girl. Her baby has nothing to put on;her wound is septic too and needs to be taken back to theatre to have another surgery because the wound is totally open and so septic. she is in so much pain.she needs the same drugs as Juliet only that she needs also going to theatre. she needs feeding; and has no support at all. Mwajuma needs approximetly 340$

little angel born 2 weeks ago but has never had clothes on. Because they do not have any baby cloth. so they only wrap her up in bedsheets. so tomorrow we will deliver clothes to her.

I have only shared 2 pictures because Only remembered to take pictures after i was done with praying and counseling with the mothers. but the other 2 mothers are Habibah ; whose baby has developed an infection and also under treatment in the ICU and Rosette who also has a very bad sepsis and I found her screaming, crying as they were pressing out puss from her wound: they each need the same antibiotics as Juliet. We need your support to help these mothers and their babies to see a light at the end of their tunnels. This is what Hope For Women IN Crisis is here for. Join us and we bring the hope of God to the mothers facing crisis during childbirth. A moment that is supposed to be full of joy and hope; these women go through hopeless and full of sorrow.
we have been able to receive 500$ from one of our friends and starting tomorrow we have treatment for our mommas and babies and they will have meals.Thank you sister and God bless you. So now please join our sister and be the hand and feet of God to them.
If you would like to join us and help bye medication; food; drinking water; beddings for these mommas; Donate to HOFWIC. Any amount is welcome. You can send your donation to us through NGM and specify that its for Hope For Women IN Crisis for hospital. here is the adress:

HOPE FAMILY HOME

Grace at hospital
It is not a new story or a new need, only that this old often repeated story needed a solution to the problem. It all begun with my first  few visits to the hospital to go and help needy women and their babies; I met Jane 18years old who had lost her baby, she was grieving silently and when I asked the nurse what exactly happened she told me Jane took long to come to the hospital and she also never attended her antenatal clinic visits so she was too weak and anaemic so she failed to push the baby, by the time she was taken for operation her baby had weakened and died just a few minutes after birth. I went back to Jane and asked her why she took long to come to the hospital and why she did not attend her antenatal clinics, Jane told me she lived far in the village because her parents didn't want to see her anymore after she became pregnant at school. It was so sad, and I didn't know how to help her, but I kept wishing I met her a few months ago before she ran to the village.
Little did I know it wasn't the end of this story; I got to meet so many girls with the same story as Jane till today; one of the same story was Christine15 years old who had nowhere to go with her baby after being helped by a few good Samaritans throughout her pregnancy. After a few visits with Christine while she was still in the hospital, I knew God wanted me to look for shelter for her and her baby boy;but I didn't know what to do, the ministry was just starting and the finances could not allow me take such responsibility, but God always has angels assigned to fulfil His will here on earth and that angel may be you or me or anyone else.In this particular case, the angels were a team of missionaries that came for a short term mission to train pastors and among them when I shared about the idea of getting Christine a shelter; they felt God wanted them to help see it happen. so they helped get money and pay rent for a small room for Christine and her baby, and so many of you helped Christine eat, dress, sleep in a proper bed, get a hand skill training to help her earn a living, and we did this with Christine for about 10 months and baby John was big and strong, above all healthy. I believe someday God will reward you all for this compassionate work that you have done for these lives. I know wherever they are ,they are fine and healthy because you gave.
This did not end here, as we helped so many other women and young girls at the hospital, there were so many cases of girls with no idea of where to go after the hospital because their parents had rejected them and the boys responsible for the pregnancies have fled too. These girls are usually hopeless and withdrawn due to rejection ansd shame.
I knew what God was asking me to do; I was scared of doing it because it is so demanding and I do not have the finances to do it. But God sure makes everything beautiful in His own time. This year He assigned another angel who came over and she willingly saw this ministry of providing a home for these rejected girls with their coming babies set off. may God reward her too .
Now that we have BEGUN, the work is nothing close to easy but such beautiful work to see the restoration of hope in the lives of these girls, with your help we will go on changing these lives.
Our very first teenage mother to be helped at the HOPE FAMILY HOME is Victor Nabirye 14 years old and a mother of twins, baby Grace and baby JohnMark.when I received the call from the hospital about Victor, I asked my colleague Zainah to go and she came back ,updated me and the next day I went to meet her, there she was with her twins so tiny that one could believe they couldn't make it. we took care of them at the hospital, shared the Word of God and the love of Christ with her, she gave her life to Christ. I trusted God and took her in, she was so hopeless ,she never believed that her babies could make it. I taught her how to pray for her babies, she now prays whenever she is scared about the babies. it hasn't been easy ,the babies have been admitted thrice since birth,to have to look after two tiny babies, whom one of the nurses told Victor to let them die because they are never going to make it, I can only look up and say IT WAS GOD. right now; baby Grace is healthy and so beautiful, with the help of the home mother who is my mum. She prays for them, and showers them with love. Now Victor and her babies have a home, a family, and a hope , and people loving them.
A well-wisher has helped pay for Victor to start her sewing classes, we have one sewing machine at the home,we need more angels to help make a difference in the life of a teenage girl rejected and her baby or babies.
For us to keep doing this work of God, we need your help. You too can be that angel. Thank you all who have been and are still helping this ministry meet lives and change lives. We bring hope where hope has been lost because our God is the God of hope. Jeremiah 29:11 'For I know the plans I have for you..........to give you hope and a future.....'

THE HOME (WE ARE READY NOW)

Hope Teenage Mothers Home
When The Lord put it on my heart to start Hope For Women In Crisis; I hardly had a clear picture of what exactly I was going in for and how it was going to work out. As I set off to the hospital on my first day there to serve the women; I thought i was only going to serve the grieving mothers since that was what brought about this ministry in the first place, and when i showed up at the hospital, there was sure a serious case of a 17 year old girl who had lost her baby the previous night, but they didn’t have transport to take the body of the baby for burial. Thank God I had some money and helped them take the body to the village, but this girl also had no food, no medication.

The next day I found another 16 year old mother abandoned with her new born baby. Sadly this became the most common cases I am to meet for the rest of the time I go to the hospital. After a few months of the ministry; I met a 14 year old mother, who told me she didn’t know where to go with her baby because her family had rejected her and the boy who made her pregnant told her never to think he is the one that made her pregnant because as far as he is concerned, he is infertile. I thought so hard about what to do until my head ached. I was not able to help this girl in this situation and this increased the burden on my heart about these unwed teenage pregnant girls. I took my pen and book, sat down and begun writing about this home for the teenage pregnant girls. The budget was so big that it scared me deep into my belly, and I felt butterflies flying in my belly. I gathered my strength and said;’Father, i know and believe You alone can do this’

moving stuff into the home.
A few weeks later I was called to the hospital for another case and this was Christine, the 15 year old who had been brought to the hospital by good Samaritans, she was operated and had her baby, but she had nowhere to go to because she was an orphan and was a house maid to someone before she got raped and made pregnant, then thrown out of her mistress’s house. When I went to talk to Christine, she told me ‘Auntie please do not leave me.’ Her cry woke up this long awaited dream and vision that I believe is God given. I talked to a few friends who were around for their short time mission to Uganda, and they helped me raise some money that was enough for me to rent a small room for Christine and her baby, and buy a few stuff for her to start a life alone with her baby, this was the first time ever Christine slept on a bed, and a proper bed. The joy on Christine’s face and shortly she begun opening up to me and telling me her story. This was her healing. I thank all my friends that helped me take care of Christine and baby John. Because of your help, I was able to send Christine for tailoring course and got her a sewing machine too. John is now 1 year and 3 months old and a big boy.

This dream and vision stayed on my heart and on the paper until a friend asked me to write him all about my ministry so their organisation could help apply for a grant, this gave me the chance to share about this vision, though the grant didn’t go through, it helped me remember and start praying about it.

these are the beds.
This year God divinely sent another friend to volunteer with me, and during her time of volunteering, we encountered so many teenage mothers and most of them were 13years old, 14years old and 15 years old. One evening as we visited after our hospital ministry, she asked me what i am thinking about this ministry, and for the very first time shared this dear dream with someone, and told her plainly @ I am setting up a home for the unwed Teenage Pregnant girls that have been abandoned. And she told me ,that is exactly what she felt God telling her I should do.Tadaaaah. That was it, and God has miraculously provided through this one individual lady and a friend to help me start this home. Now we are ready and one mother and her twins are already in the house.yeeeeees. Victor and her twins ( John Mark and Grace)

This home is a rehabilitation centre for these traumatized teenagers for their transition into parenting but also to help they fit back into the society.

To keep this home running we need your donations and come and volunteer with us too. you can come and stay right at the home as you serve and love these mothers and their babies.

You can also sponsor a mother and her baby, that is to help them eat, baby diapers, and all other baby needs, but we also train these girls to become self sustaining ,by equipping them with skills that will help them earn a living and take care of their baby. This we do in various areas such as Tailoring, craft work, jewelry making, computer skills, baking, and some of them we need to take them back to school for farther studying if they are willing. These help them fit back in the society.
For now, we can accommodate 4 pregnant girls and when their babies come, we can still accommodate 4 girls with their babies.
teaching Victor how to wash and dress the baby

We teach them life skills to help them heal from their pain and to make better decisions in the future. ABOVE ALL THESE AND MORE, WE HELP THEM KNOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST AND COME TO HIM WITH ALL THEIR HEARTS.

And you can help us do this.

Contact me for any questions about this.

JOIN ME IN THIS NEW ADVENTURE OF LOVING THESE PRECIOUS CHILDREN OF GOD WITH THE LOVE CHRIST ALONE CAN PROVIDE.

PASSION

Victor 14 yrs old mother of twins now
Please share, you never know who you will inspire!
http://humanityhealing.net/
It has been 1 year and 9 months since Hope For Women In Crisis has been functioning on ground, and, just what The Lord has used us to do so far is so amazing. Sometimes it feels like I have been doing this for years; but its all by God's grace and power. He placed this passion in and on my heart, it gives me reason to live and to think. Thank You Father.
  1. This year so much has been happening with so much changes and direction in the ministry that ,I lost control over my blogs, I am really sorry. Now there are so many testimonies: May be I should start with this one:
  2. This year We have been able to register as a Community Based Organisation and now we have our legal status, this means a lot to me and to the ministry. A sense of responsibility and accountability. This also helps us do activities that we couldn't freely do without registration.
  3. This same year we were able to participate in the Uganda Annual National Save The Mother Conference that brings so many organisations that help mothers and babies here in

Uganda, and Hope For Women In Crisis was able to present on Behalf of The Jinja Regional Referral Hospital in this Big Conference. Yes This another very big move since it created awareness of our presence and work that we have been doing in Jinja.Do not  despise the days of small beginnings.
  4. This year we have been able to start off our TEENAGE PREGNANT GIRLS' HOME for the teenage girls that have been made pregnant out of many different circumstances amongst which include: Rape, defilement, sexual harassment, and abuse but are also rejected with no one to help.
From the day I begun going to the hospital to help the needy mothers have a better experience during child birth; abut 70% of these very needy mothers have been teenagers and among those,50% being rape and defilement cases and abandoned.
This one God placed it on my heart and I begun asking Him how He wanted me to help these young girls . First I travelled about 130 km East of Jinja and found more than 70 teenagers in the same village (Busia) pregnant and out of school with no hope and no help. This broke my heart looking at these girls from 13 years to 19 years all pregnant with babies without fathers; I wished I could carry them and bring them home with me. I cried and my heart was captured. This led me into praying for the girls but also for how we could help; in response we were able to provide Mama Kits for the girls so they had gloves , cotton and other stuff needed by the health centre as you report to deliver your baby, we also provided multivitamins for the girls, clothes and blankets for the babies. We conducted a three days conference where we talked about what abortion really means and its dangers, we also talked about the love of God that never changes even due to situations. It was so amazing the girls showed up for counselling the next day and some were confessing that they had never told anyone they were pregnant and were planning on abortion but now they wouldn't do it, they were keeping their babies.
We then went back after 4 months to sponsor a hand skills training for the girls to learn how to make money with their own hands not to look for it from men; this was important because there is so much prostitution in the area due to Truck Drivers who offer some money to use the girls, forcing them even to do what they do not want to do. This was very fruitful, so many girls and women did the training and no they make a lot of craft stuff ,like ,bracelets ,bags ,clothes ,necklaces ,mats ,hats ,paper bags, paper bead curtains, and many other different things that Hope For Women In Crisis buys from them and uses for fund raising along side your donations to keep the ministry running .These girls are now earning a living ,taking good care of their babies, eating a balanced diet. I am just so proud of them. Most of them have babies now.
You can buy these craft items from Kirsten .A. Harr ,if you are on Facebook ,check on her and she can tell you how you can get it from her. Every item you purchase helps us help a teenage unmarried mother support herself, it also helps us buy medication for a needy mother in the hospital, buy food, get transport for these needy mothers to go back home .
BIG NEWS : The home is ready ,we will be posting about it very soon. This is just something to keep your ears itching. :D
One good Samaritan has helped us start off the home, we still need a lot of your support to see that what God has started is accomplished. Pray for us, support us, join us, come and we serve short time or long time together.
THANK YOU FOR GVING,THANK YOU FOR SERVING,THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE.
THAT IS WHY WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COME THIS FAR.
I GUESS THIS IS A CALLING,A PASSION, A HEART.
I KNOW WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER

YOUNG BUT NOT YOUNG ANYMORE

Victor(14 yrs old) sitting by her babies.
I have been really away from our blogs and I am so sorry for not updating you all my dear friends and well-wishers of this ministry. So much has been happening and the ministry is growing so fast that I slowed a little bit due to other commitments. Now we are back: Fasten your belt and let us jump.
For the past three to four months we have been encountering so many young teenage mothers than we ever encountered before. Most of these young girls range between 13 years old and 19 years old; about 71% of these girls are 14 years old and 15 years old ,26% of hem are 16 years old and 17 years old,the rest being 18 years old, very few of them are 19 years old.
This number is seriously worrying. It is so sad because most of these 13,14,and 15 years old girls are rape cases with no help at all. We have had so many cases of C- sections .These girls come from very poor and needy families, who can hardly afford the treatment and let alone the feeding during the stay at the hospital.
Monica's babies as we found them.
Monica(15 yrs old)
Monica 15 years old, Victor  14 years old and Winnie 16 years old are the few of such cases that we have this week besides the other cases of women we have had since Monday this week. Each of these girls had their babies by C- section.
Monica was abused by a man and left pregnant, now she is a mother of a pair of twins. We found her at the hospital with a friend looking after her. She has developed a serious cough and in need of antibiotics for both her cough and her operation. her baby was naked. The father of her baby disappeared from the village after knowing she was pregnant.

Victor's baby, the other is in the oxygen
Zainah delivering the WIC blessing bag
Victor 14 years old also had twins. she looks very young but now she is a mother. She was a school girl until she got raped and left pregnant. Her poor mother is in the hospital with her but she cannot do more than looking at them since she has no money for treatment. Victor's babies were both naked when we found them. I felt so sad and my heart was heavy watching this little girl trying so hard to breast feed her babies , she does not know how to hold her babies, she needs help, one baby is sick and they have no money to buy the prescribed drugs for the baby to get treatment. Thank God my colleague Zainah shared the love of Christ with little Victor and she gave her life to Christ. She has a big smile on her face though she can hardly look you in the eyes. Her face is constantly looking down even when she is smiling.  oh how I wanted to grab those babies and take them with me.
Winnie 16 years old was abandoned at the hospital and her Caesarean wound was now infected and she was basically stinking ,she hadn't taken a bath for two days, her wound was bringing out pus,oh my God, no she couldn't afford to buy a syringe ,gloves ,antibiotics, food or anything in that case. she lay down in pain and her face looked hopeless.
I love the hope the Name of Jesus brings.
We had great moment with the three girls at the hospital, we even afforded some laughter, we smiled, they giggled, we held them and prayed with them.
The babies were all dressed up, we had food for them, medication was provided, gloves, syringes, and friends.
I really love the hope Jesus brings in these lives.
Thank you for donating towards Hope for Women In Crisis.
We are able to provide medication, transportation, food, baby clothes, bedding, and above all else the love of Christ to these young mothers who feel worthless and abandoned by their own .
The reward is priceless; looking at the smile come on the once sad faces, looking at a baby who was once naked and cold being dressed warm and beautiful, having these lives changed by just a simple act of kindness, most importantly the souls finding their way to Christ and surrendering to His Lordship.
I love doing this over and over.
God blessed me with a wonderful team of three ladies working tirelessly by my side. I love these daughters of God.
I will write sooner again.
( These are just a few more of the serious cases we have had since last week)

DESTINY

It has been more than 6 months since I met Olivia and baby Edward.I never knew how far and how long I will keep around them or with them,I am thankful to God for this long and He is faithful in this journey.
Olivia's life was changed drastically without any warning.I know this is a crisis that no woman would ask for,it is one of the few stories that I write while fighting tears from dropping on my big cheeks .Fact is her life will never be the same again.Yes,many times when things happen different from our way,as human being,we tend to blame God or ourselves;Olivia has been the strongest girl I have ever met.She affords a smile even when she knows that she is just about to loose half her foot, she looks in my eyes and sees tears and she tells me ,"Mommy ,I will be fine." Oh my God,I ask her the question that had been running in my mind from the day I learnt she might never walk again, and I have been asking Jesus this question ever since. The question of destiny." Olivia, what do you want and love to do in your life?" she looked at me and said" If I were walking, I would.." I immediately stopped her and said,Olivia, you are alive and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you." When I said that, she looked down and tears were falling ,I fought my tears so I could hold her .THIS WAS MY CONVERSATION WITH OLIVIA WEEKS AGO,A FEW HOURS BEFORE SHE WAS TAKEN IN TO AMPUTATE HALF HER FOOT .
Our destiny is not determined by our circumstances.Jesus Christ is the owner and giver of destiny,if you have Him,He will make sure you reach your destiny. This question of destiny is to all and for all of us.Giving up is the enemy of destiny, keeping on is the secret to reaching your destiny. This is what I wanted Olivia to get and to start changing her statement from "IF I WERE WALKING" to " I WANT TO AND LOVE TO DO THIS..." With or without her legs,Olivia has a life and a future .I believe this is what Jesus wants her to know and to believe."SHE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS HER.
After so many weeks of recovery at papa Paul and mama Pamela's home,Olivia and her mom were finally going home to celebrate Christmas with their family.East or West, home is the best.they were both full of smiles and anxious to go back home,Olivia had shoes on her feet after a long time of not wearing any shoes. We set off to collect Olivia's Christmas gift from WIC.and we set off for home.
Olivia has been sleeping down on the ground even in her pain, but not any more.
Thanks to all those that gave towards Christmas mission ministry ,Olivia got a new bed,new mattress, new blanket, new pillow. You should see the joy on their faces.Yes her life will never be the same again in so many ways: She will never get half her foot back,She may never walk again, but, she has a bigger family, she will not sleep on the floor anymore, and so many other good things that God has in store for her and her baby Edward.I must admit I love her in a special way deep inside my heart.
When we were done putting the bed and everything in her room,Olivia's younger sister came to me and gave me her hand ,in a very soft voice she said"Thank you mum for loving my sister and for making her happy" well I couldn't hold it back. This little girl is about 14 years.
Yesterday I received a message from Olivia"Thank you mum for making my bedroom smart, dressing my baby and all the good things you've done for me since God sent you to me.God bless you.* Olivia.
wow, she may not know this, but many times when I am going through discouragement in ministry,God has used Olivia to encourage me.yes she challenges me how she handles her life and how strong she is in her tiny body.
Thank you Next Generation Ministry for helping Olivia get her surgery and all the medical expenses ,it cost a lot but thank you for giving. Thank you Papa Paul and mama Pamela Hunter for opening your hearts and doors for this beautiful girl.Thank you for looking after her for all this time at your home.I am strong but not that strong to watch people go through pain,I needed someone else to have my back.Thank you all who donated fast when I mentioned about the Christmas love mission,Olivia is one of the people who have benefited. Let us do this together.
I love the way God is using WIC. Plan to come and minister with WIC ,there is plenty room and plenty people to serve and love them the Jesus' way.
AND OUR CHRISTMAS LOVE MISSION IS STILL GOING ON. KEEP CHECKING ON THIS PAGE MORE POSTS TO COME.<3 TO YOU ALL WHO ARE STANDING WITH JESUS AND LOVING THE WORLD WITH HIM.

APOLOGY AND THANKSGIVING

With lots of respect and love,I apologize to you all my dear partners in WIC and to all those who have been faithfully following up our updates and praying for and with us.For the past 4 months I have been very inconsistent in my blog writing and yet it is one of the most effective way to keep us all updated and on the same page,my husband being away made me a little lazy or preoccupied with a lot and blog writing became so hard even when i had real issues to update about. I am sorry and now I am trying to catch up.Thank you Tracie for reminding me that you need to be updated, yes sometimes we need someone to say something then we  wake up.
Although I have not been writing  a lot about what has been taking place,we have had so many cases the past 4 months and some of them have been serious ones, some have been minor, and one other thing that God has done biggest these past months is that,He has won more souls through WIC than the whole past year.I cant praise Him enough for that,if WIC were a church building,we would have a full congregation, :D I know this is the most important mission that the Lord has given us and the ultimate goal of WIC as  a ministry in all its aspects.
We have been able to reach out to more women and babies because we had enough supply and thank you for giving.
We had Bibles to give out without struggling and that made it easier to do ministry.Thank you for giving.
We have been able to help more teenage mothers to have their babies in a hopeful way and this was done through the short counselling sessions i have had with them in the hospital.
We have had  Muslims give their lives to Christ since September and so many  Catholics come to Christ besides the many others who just never used to go to any church.
God is still winning souls and let us keep going out there because the fields are ready and the workers are few.
Tuesday was a good day and very busy one.Jeff and I returned home tired and when it was time for dinner,I felt a sudden sharp pain in my stomach as I was setting up the table. It was so sharp that it caused my head to ache too,I tried to ignore it but I couldn't,so I went to bed to try and sleep,it was impossible,I ran to my mum's room ,she prayed for me,the pain was just unbearable I couldn't straighten up,couldn't walk, and not even lay down.at about midnight it became the worst stomach pain I have ever had,and Jeff drove me to a clinic in town, thank God for mothers,my mom was right there trying hard to help Jeff and I.I could barely move a step,at the clinic I got good help and was found with a very strong infection in my belly,I don't know how it went in there. ;) .I was immediately put on IV treatment that I am supposed to take for 5 days. I hate the shots but I am grateful I am taking them because I am getting better so fast. This is not the main reason I was writing this blog,I just needed a backbone to what I am about to write. We drove back home, and the night was a nightmare to me,sleepless night, hadn't eaten the previous day and pain in my belly,so the next morning was when I was trying to catch up with sleep. As soon as I felt a little sleepy ,my body was aching and my head was aching and swinging hahahaha that's the best description I can give to what I was feeling at the moment, and all I was praying for,was at least a 30 minute sleep, and God gave me the sleep, but before 15 minutes of sleep,my fone rung, and it was the hospital: The nurse sounded concerned and I asked her to hang up so I could call her back, when I called she said we need you, can you help?
wheeeeeew! Now this was a big day for us at home, our son Dave was graduating from nursery school,or kindergarten and he was going to do a presentation on him liking to be a pilot.I had waited for this day and like any proud mother, this meant a lot to me,my son was going to stand in public and speak. besides that,I was weak and all I needed was a little sleep, and now there was a need,2 teenage mothers,no food,no drugs,no bedding,no water,no everything," Now a couple months back,we lost a teenage mother I had seen the previous night, accessed the need, and  I told them I was coming the next day with all the other drugs and things the doctor had asked for,The next day as I was walking in the ward with everything they had asked for, I went straight to the girl's bed and as I stood there with all the supplies, she died"I kept on thinking if I had brought the drugs that night though it was late and dark, may be she would have lived, this was the hardest thing for me to swallow and that memory is still alive in my head and on my heart.I also said to myself, well I am sick, and I have treatment, these girls are sick, but they do not have any treatment,I jumped off my bed faster than I thought I could, and called Jeff and asked him to come home and pick me .
When I reached the hospital, this is a 15 year old girl who was made pregnant and abandoned, chased away, rejected by the 18 year old boyfriend and father of her baby.she was sleeping with her baby on the empty bed,Mastullah looked very tired and weak, beautiful but with a hopeless look on her face,Jeff was with me since I was too weak to even talk to her while standing,he helped me get the prescription and went to town to bye the drugs so she could start on her treatment..I couldn't help but start sharing the gospel of Christ, the love of Christ ,and within 20 minutes,Mastullah became a child of God,she received Christ as her savior,a former Muslim, now a child of God,I couldn't contain my joy,I felt stronger, she made a prayer asking Christ to come into her life, and we prayed together, then she was smiling at me,when Jeff brought all her drugs, she couldn't stop thanking, she got money for food and upkeep, this was the climax of my day.We missed our son Dave's presentation at school,I know I will never see that day again, but this one soul was is the best thing that happened in that day.
We saw him graduate,we asked him to forgive us for not being there to see him do his presentation,it hurt in our hearts like so deep, but my spirit was rejoicing.I know it is worth it.
Since then,my heart has been praising, and I am so blessed to be part of God's work here.
Thank you for being part of God's work here with us.
We love you
sorry I haven't posted any pictures, but I took some, I just had to write this since it was on my heart. I will post pictures of us and Mastullah later.

KEEPING JESUS IN OUR X-MAS

X-mas is coming, and to many people its a lot of things, while to some people, they simply don't know why Christmas and what does it mean anyway.
In Uganda, most people think Christmas is the day they eat best, dress best, drink best ,go to church to show their new clothes, and do whatever they want to do best, including sinning best.
Its our duty as children of God to show this world what Christmas really means, celebrating the birth of our Christ the Savior,by showing the reason He came,He came for love, love made Him leave His glory in heaven and come to this earth.
WIC does this by going to the hospital to love on these women and their babies and share gifts and gospel with them. Last year on Christmas day, about 5 souls gave their lives to Christ on that day,can anyone tell me a better way to celebrate Christmas than this? Than having souls discover the Truth, and come to Christ?
I found new way to celebrate my Lord ,and I would love to give you a chance to celebrate Him with us by winning these souls to Himself and also by showing love to those who think no one cares while they are in pain and in the confinement of a hospital on a day people are celebrating.
This Christmas, we want to celebrate with our women.

  1. We have Olivia, she got her wheelchair, she is happy and she praises God for that, one more thing, she is still sleeping down on the floor on  a very old less than an inch mattress ,she has no blanket, and they share this mattress with baby Edward.Well, you can give to buy them a mattress,a blanket,a pillow and a bed, this will be the best Christmas for Olivia and her little baby.we did it for Jovati, she got a mattress and we can do better with Olivia, just to show this family the love of Christ and keep Jesus in our Xmas.

  1. You Remember Christine and baby John?  yes the 16 year old mother that WIC is supporting? We can get them a gift hamper this will give them a big smile on that day. we are their family.
  2. Jovati and her 7 year old daughter, they can smile too with a gift hamper on a Christmas day.
  3. We have a baby of an HIV positive mother whose husband rejected from the time he knew she was pregnant,he is baby Kwagala(Love) I named him this way because he was rejected, and the moment i saw him,God whispered in my heart that, "I love him"(I remember that day tears dropped from my eyes knowing God is right there loving on His own people and I am just to go and show them that He is there and He cares),Baby Kwagala and the mother and his siblings need to see love that day too, I know they don't have food,we can feed them on that day,yes we can.
  4. and finally we have our mothers with and without babies in the hospital that day, we give them sugar, soap, rice, posho, and this time we want to add pads, and toilet paper in the WIC XMAS HAMPER with the Bible in it.

WIC needs your donation to do this this Christmas, and don't limit yourself from being a blessing.
You will be extending the love of God, and you never know what your gift can do in the Kingdom of our God.
When donating, please mention that its for WIC Xmas mission , if its for Olivia's needs, please mention WIC OLIVIA and that way we will be able to use your blessing exactly for what it is.
I,Lyzette,am really very grateful and blessed to be a channel through which you my friends and family there can be a blessing to God's creation here.
I just want to give us a smile on Xmas and win at least one soul to our Savior for His coming on earth.
I love you.

OLIVIA STILL NEEDS HELP.

I CALL YOU ANGELS BECAUSE GOD SPEAKS TO US IN SEVERAL WAYS AND YOU FOUND ME IN THE DARKEST PERIOD."
I THANK GOD BECAUSE YOU HAVE SHOWN ME A GOOD EXAMPLE AND I HAVE LEARNT A LOT FROM YOU.YOU HAVE DRAWN ME CLOSER TO GOD'S LOVE. THANKS ." Olivia"
this is Olivia and her mom
These messages came from Olivia. These are the results of loving these women and serving them and standing in the gap. There is no better reward than this.Trust me;when i read these messages,i felt like getting up and going to the hospital again and following up another woman In Crisis.Thank you for standing with us and for donating whatever you have donated towards this ministry. This message I dedicate it to all those that are standing with us and to those who want to join us on this journey of doing" What Would Jesus Do?
I hope we still remember Olivia the young lady who had her first baby and got paralyzed after the C- Section.
For those of us who do not know Olivia this is her story:
She is 20 years old and was in high school when she got pregnant. After 9 months of carrying her baby in the womb she was ready to go and have her baby and she failed to have the baby normally because she had gone into prolonged labor and she was tired, her baby was almost dying. The doctor recommended C- Section for her to try and save them and after the operation, the mother and the baby both made it.Olivia did not recover her walking, she became paralyzed. None of us knows exactly what happened during the Cesarean birth that caused her to become paralyzed. One of our Friend a doctor tried to help Olivia while he was here in Uganda for his short time mission trip and he tried to clarify the cause of what might have caused this and he assumed that they might have  injected her directly on the spinal cord with the anesthesia which may mean that her chances of walking again are very very very little. she may remain paralyzed for the rest of her life. This is so sad as a first time mother and a young woman, she wants to take care of her baby and go back to school, she still has her dreams fresh and clear. But, the fact that Olivia is paralyzed and from a very poor family makes it really hard for her to take care of her baby; she has to be carried by her mother or husband, she can not go anywhere around the house without someone to carry her around.and right now she has developed wounds on her butts and they are growing faster because she sits on really hard surfaces and sits long on the floor where she uses the wall to support her back.
This is how Olivia sits through the day.
Woman In Crisis does not only help such needy women at the hospital,we also do home follow-ups and this is our uniqueness ,We love them all the way, and we extend the loving hand of Christ to them in their most painful moments and the time when they thought they are not really that important for anyone to care that much.that is the love of Christ.
At this point: Olivia needs more medical care to assure that those wounds are not infected; and also get her a wheelchair to help her move around the house and take care of her baby and herself, also to try and avoid any farther wounds. So if you would like to help us get a wheelchair for Olivia and get her treatment please send your donations to us through Next Generation Ministries International and mention that its towards Olivia's wheelchair.
You can become our partner and donate through one time donation ,or monthly donation to help as many women as we can . you can use our Paypal address on this blog.Your donations help Woman in Crisis reach to the most needy mothers and their babies, get them medication,clothes,blankets,sheets,food,transport,follow-up,clean drinking water, and above all the love of Christ. It also helps us conduct short time mission trips to the far east of Uganda to help the young teenage mothers and get them mama kits so they can go and have their babies with at least what is basic for any new mother.
Come let us work together and bring as many souls closer to God.
Be blessed.
